Umbra Collective: Jasmine Nash | The Modern Bride

This is the first of a few posts on the Umbra Collective student runway that I attended last week.

First up is Jasmine Nash's collection The Modern Bride.

Inspired by nature, Jasmine Nash's bridal collection borrows the textures and voluminous silhouettes from the veiled lady mushroom. Created for the modern bride as the name suggests, the collection is full of contemporary wedding dresses with a difference. Each piece is intricately layered, embellished and pleated.

When I saw this gorgeous collection on the runway, it made me really excited to get married. Cost aside, how many wedding dresses would be too many for my big night...

The Clique Arcade Launch

Clique Arcade launched its online store on Friday night in Perth 'guerilla' style. Sixty models literally stopped traffic as they glided through the streets of Perth city.

Clique Arcade is the new generation of online shopping. Founders and brother and sister duo, Ross and Storm Wyness, are putting Perth designers on the map, making their designs known and accessible throughout Australia. The focus will begin with the Perth fashion community and later on they plan expand to the east coast.

The difference between Clique Arcade and other online stores is that the money goes straight to the designer within the day and the clothing is sent by them. Free shipping is available on all products and orders are dispatch within 24-hour.

Make sure you check out Clique Arcade, they are pretty much the coolest thing happening for Perth creatives right now!

The Hidden Sound

When Nadine, from MGVP, invited me to an intimate mystery gig in Fremantle featuring a secret artist, I could not refuse.

The hundred ticket holders would only find out the secret location the day before the event, and the artist would be revealed at the last minute on the night.

RAW Perth

Last month I attended RAW Perth at the Bakery. With the vibe of a mini festival, RAW is an international arts organisation promoting emerging movers and shakers in their field. Now held in over 60 countries, RAW's festivities are unlike any other event on the calendar.

Guests at RAW Perth were in for an eclectic mix of cool art, music and fashion by a selection of homegrown talents -- visual artists, musicians, performance artists, fashion and accessory designers, hair stylists and makeup artists -- all coming together for a wildly diverse night.

Darlings Supper Club

There's a new kid in town and he's pretty darn cool.

Darlings Supper Club, an asian inspired eatery, has opened its doors in Northbridge, Perth. Operating seven days a week, from 3pm until 3am, Darlings is just what the city needs. With other eateries closing their kitchens as early as 8:30pm, it has brought much-needed late-night snacking to Perth.
