Jarrad Seng: Spirit of the Maasai

While I love fashion, art is what really captivates me. I love art that tells a story, expresses emotion and has heart behind each work. In Jarrad Seng's photography, he manages to capture the moment in his work; that is what makes it so fascinating. In his third solo exhibition, Spirit of the Maasai, Perth-basedJarrad visited the Maasai villages in remote Tanzania. His series features portraits of children. He captures the personalities of these young Maasai, who will one day carry on their unique traditions. His combination of stunning landscapes, Maasai culture and human expression in this collection of photographs, is truly magical.

As well as the photographs being exceedingly beautiful, all the proceeds from the exhibition go towards Ujamaa Children’s Home Orphanage and Boma Africa. These two humanitarian organisations are committed to breaking the cycle of poverty through education, as well as helping to maintain the Maasai people's traditional lifestyle.

The exhibition is now on at The Hive, creative arts space in Northbridge. It is running until Saturday 21st September.

If you have the opportunity to see Jarrad's exhibition, I highly recommend it!
