Wedding Preparation: Skin care
I have never really had a beauty routine up until now. I am lucky that I have had pretty good skin all my life so while I always try to stay out of the sun and 'Slip-Slop-Slap', my skin care was non-existent. With my wedding coming up it was time to kick myself into gear and take my skin care and anti-ageing regime seriously.
After a recent trip to the facialist, she recommended anti-ageing Gly C Refine Skin Refining Micro Dermabrasion Kit - Stage 1 - Gentle from cosmeceutical skin care company La Clinica. This company is 100% Australian owned and operates its own certified organic skin care manufacturing facility here in Melbourne. Having heard from several friends about this skin care brand, I was excited to start using the products.
Within the Gly C kit there is a facial cream cleanser, toning mist, day cream, night cream, anti wrinkle eye cream and micro-dermabrasion facial exfoliating scrub. I was all set to begin, I only needed to add their SPF50 in the mornings.
For the first few days I had slight redness around the eyes where I used the Gly C Facial Exfoliating Scrub and Anti Wrinkle Eye Cream. La Clinica reassured me that redness in the beginning is completely normal, it's just the skin getting used to the percentage of Glycolic Acid in the products. To help combat the redness and sensitivity, I began using La Clinica's Sensitive Skin Kit. One month on I don't get any redness and from time to time, when my skin needs it, I use the sensitive range again.
I have also been getting breakouts especially after Christmas, eating so many sweets (chocolate and sugar for me is the worst!) and probably stress from the wedding planning so I have been using their Clear Skin Intensive Spot Serum. This really helps to fight the pimples.
The effects after a month? I'm very happy with my new skin routine. My skin is smoother, suppler and hydrated. It has been the perfect wedding skin preparation and I will be continuing long after the wedding is over.
