How to Make Mulled Wine
Mulled wine is the perfect winter treat for dinner parties or cosy evenings at home.
Mulled wine evokes feelings of winter nights in front of the fire, wandering European Christmas markets or fun nights in with friends.
I've never attempted to make mulled wine until now and would have tried years ago if I knew how easy it was! This will be my go-to winter dinner party drink from now on.
Interested in making it for yourself? Here's how to make mulled wine:

10 cloves
2 cinnamon sticks
1/4 cup caster sugar
1 roughly grated nutmeg
2 cups water
Roughly grated rind of 1 orange
1 apple, roughly chopped (skin on)
750ml fruity red wine (I used a Cabernet Merlot)
2 Star Anise
Optional: 1/2 cup brandy
METHOD
Step 1
Heat cloves, cinnamon, sugar, nutmeg, water, orange rind and apple in a large saucepan over medium heat.
Step 2
Bring to the boil, then reduce heat to low and simmer for 10 minutes.
Step 3
