Telstra Perth Fashion Festival 2015: Phuong My
In the darkness a voice sounded, pure and beautiful, singing the soulful jazz tune ‘Feelin’ good’. The lights came on to reveal the performer Eva Scolaro in a gorgeous green floor length dress.
It felt like out of a movie. The audience was swept away to another time and place. Having been to New York Fashion Week, it felt like I was there. It was sophisticated, the perfect beginning to Vietnamese designer Phuong My’s runway debut at Telstra Perth Fashion Festival.
Romance and elegance were the themes for her Spring Summer 2016 collection. Pretty as ever, the dresses were made to fit the female form perfectly. The rich fabrics, including silk, lace and organza, were sourced from Milan, Paris and Hong Kong. Her dresses would be ideal for a special occasion such as a wedding or Spring Racing Carnival.
Presented by Singapore Airlines, the young and talented designer's show was stunning. All I needed was a martini in hand and to be wearing one of her dresses and I would be set for a glamorous night out.
