Telstra Perth Fashion Festival 2015: Jaime Lee
It was sensory overload at Jaime Lee Major’s Telstra Perth Fashion Festival runway on Thursday night. There were two unicorns riding skateboards by Perth artist Steven Buckles, an LED rainbow by Huntress and Hound and more embellishments than you can image. As you can imagine, it was an amazing sight to behold.
Major found the inspiration for her new collection ‘Lighyears’ when she visited Japan theme parks and the Robot Restaurant in Tokyo. With sheer embellished mini dresses, lilac fur coats and heavily embroidered demi-couture bridal gowns, her designs are definitely not for the conservative types.
Her spectacular gowns have been worn by A-list celebrities including Olivia Palermo, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry and New Zealand singer Kimbra.
This year Major created more ready-to-wear pieces available at a lower price point, $100 for a t-shirt to $3,500 for a bridal gown, which means that everyone can own something from the iconic Perth designer.

The show was sophisticated, the perfect beginning to Vietnamese designer Phuong My’s runway debut at Telstra Perth Fashion Festival.
