My Pregnancy Must-haves
As soon as some women fall pregnant, they rush out and buy every maternity item advertised. I tried hard to resist this urge as it doesn’t fit in with my cost per use, longevity beliefs. As a conscious consumer, I want to get as much use out of my purchases as possible. I avoid throwing things out unless it’s in tatters. I donate or pass on things to others.
With that in mind, here are my pregnancy must-haves suggestions on getting the most out of your nine months maternity journey and saving money and unnecessary buying in the process.
Bellybean Maternity Pillow - It’s $72 and worth every cent! It will save your sleep and once baby comes you can use it for breast feeding as well.
Bonds maternity singlets + feeding bras - they are so comfortable and also double as feeding singlets/bras once bub is born
Belly Oil - I’ve been using La Clinica’s Stretch Mark oil (there’s also the Organic for Mum Stretch Mark Belly Oil) and also Belly Oil from Willow By the Sea which smells divine!
Belly Band Pant Button Extender - This pant button extender adapts to regular jeans and pants so you can wear your regular clothing longer throughout pregnancy. I didn’t use it as much in my early pregnancy but now towards the end I have used it a lot and can even wear my beloved Everlane High Waisted wide leg pants still! Purchase from here or Target. It’s a worth while and affordable accessory to purchase.
Skincare - Early during pregnancy my skin was glowing but now late in the pregnancy I have had hormonal breakouts and pigmentation around my chin. For this I’ve been taking Chinese herbs as well as using Biologi face serum. I also always ensure I’m wearing sunscreen everyday and applying lip balm. I am currently using and loving the Ultra Violette Supreme Screen SPF 50+ Hydrating Facial Sunscreen and Sheen Screen SPF 30 Lipbalm
Thinx Period Panties - I have been wearing my Thinx period underwear during pregnancy as it’s helped with the extra discharge your body produces. So much better environmentally than throwing out liners.
Hand Sanitisers - I carry hand sanitiser with me wherever I go. I love the Thankyou hand sanister. The Aesop Resurrection Rinse-Free Hand Wash is lovely too!
Pregnancy belts—they’re not sexy, but they save backs. I started wearing one at 35 weeks when I found my back was getting really sore.
If you’re pregnant or have been pregnant, what are your pregnancy must-haves?
