What to Wear to a Winter Wedding
Don't be afraid to wear colour but make sure you're choosing the right one.
On the weekend I went to my cousin's wedding. It was one of those impeccable winter days. The air was crisp, the sun attempted to warm our faces and there was not a cloud in the sky.
I was excited to dress up, as usual, and chose to wear a new red Sandro dress, Valentino heels, which I wore to my own wedding, and my grandmother Por Por's vintage coat.
Luckily, it was a Catholic church-held ceremony not a Chinese ceremony as traditionally in China the bride wears red to symbolise happiness and prosperity. I had completely forgotten this custom and would have rudely turned up in red, just as shocking as wearing white to a Western wedding! I was safe with my outfit choice this time but remember this point next time you're invited to a Chinese wedding.
Although the ceremony was not traditionally Chinese, the reception was. There was a big buffet and I went back for third helpings plus dessert. At the end of the day, I was certainly happy to hang my dress up and jump into my PJ's.
