Three Winter Wardrobe Essentials You Need
I prefer winter dressing if only for the element of surprise you give through layering and accessorising. You can add pieces to make outfits more interesting or wear comfortable basics (aka PJs) under an amazing coat and no one will ever know... (until you need to take it off).
Here are three winter essentials that will update your wardrobe in an instant.
OVER-THE-KNEE BOOTS
Over-the-knee boots have been around for a few seasons now and are worthy of the investment. Shop around as the right pair can be incredibly flattering.
When styling them, keep an eye on the proportions. Leave a slither of skin between the boots and your skirt or dress, but only a slither. If you are wearing jeans, make sure they are skinny.
The boots I'm wearing here are from Stuart Weitzman. You can't go past them for quality and fit. I wear mine with pretty much anything I can match the loden green with.

NAVY WOOL FELT HAT
A hat can instantly update an outfit. Try them on, see how they fit your head and how they look. You want to find one that is the right for you and looks effortless. This navy one from FallenBrokenStreet is the perfect shape, shade and the wool felt is great for cold days.
If you are looking for a winter wardrobe update, but don't want to break the bank, a hat is the perfect choice.

FUR Vest
Fur vests are the ideal piece to keep you warm. They come in a variety of forms from faux-fur to shearling or Mongolian lambs wool, like the one I'm wearing in this post.
When it comes to styling them, focus on volume and form. Wear it with pencil skirt, skinny denim or leather pants to keep proportions in balance. As they can look bulky, clinch them in with a slim belt or fabric tie to define your shape.
