What's On: May '15
Here is what's on in May:
1. Jazz Cellar, Mount Hawthorn
This Perth institution isn't only open during the month of May, however I thought it needed a mention as they are now taking reservations! I'm sure many of you will be happy to hear this, it saves you queuing from 4pm. But still make sure you pick them up when the doors open at 6pm otherwise they will give your seats away to someone else. Open (pretty much) every Friday night from 6pm. Tickets $25. BYO food and drink. Book here.
2. Mount Hawthorn Streets and Laneways Festival
On Sunday May 3rd from 12pm-7pm, the roads will be closed off for the very first Mount Hawthorn Streets and Laneways Festival. This free event features entertainment, music, food and art. Running from Scarborough Beach Road from The Cabin to Axford Park (at the junction of Oxford Street), discover hidden gems such as the Jazz Cellar and Neighbourhood Pizza.
3. Perth Comedy Festival
Running until May 17, invest in plenty of laughs at the Perth Comedy Festival.
4. The Old Laundry
One of my new favourite spots in Perth, The Old Laundry in North Perth is open from 7am until late everyday. Whether you're after a flat white and breakie first thing in the morning, or a martini and nibbles later on in the day, this new kid on this trendy block has you covered. 22 Angove Street, North Perth.
5. Perth International Jazz Festival
This three-day festival takes place over WA Day long weekend, from May 29th to 31st. Playing across 17 venues around Perth, it features local Perth musicians, national and international jazz artist. This festivals always great fun even if you're not a jazz lover.
What else are you up to this month? I'd love to hear.
