Australian Ballet's 50th Anniversary

With grace and poise, The Australian Ballet  leaps into its 50th year. To celebrate the anniversary with equally as much style, they threw a birthday gala on Saturday 3rd November, featuring international guests including the American Ballet Theatre, Stuttgart Ballet, San Francisco Ballet, National Ballet of China and the Tokyo Ballet. From classical pieces such as Giselle, Swan Lake and the wedding pas de deux from Don Quixote to 39 year old English choreographer Christopher Wheeldon's After the Rain, this gala showcases ballet at its best. Embedded in our history, ballet will continue to delight Australian's for generations to come.

The gala performance on Saturday 3rd November will be streamed live by ABC TV to various sites around the country.
