Blogger Breakfast at MANY 6160
Fremantle won me over from the get-go. I fell in love with the community vibe and their support for everything local.
A great example of the Fremantle way of life is Many 6160. Converted from the old Myer building, the 20,000 m2 space now houses over 50 retailers, ranging from hats and soap to art and creative workshops. The concept of Many revolves around community, a very supportive one at that.
Many has changed since I first visited back in December. Some of the retailers I met back then have now graduated from the space. After testing their product in the Perth and Fremantle markets, they move out, making room for new ones to move in.
I was lucky enough to be invited along to the blogger champagne breakfast on Saturday. After champagne, croissants and catch-ups, we were taken on a tour to meet the retailers on the ground floor. Afterwards, we were taken behind-the-scenes to the production floor, where we talked with talented creatives including woodworkers, furniture makers and a naturopath-turned-surfboard-maker. Most of the Many residents we met create custom-made pieces and are willing to tailor for your taste and budget.
With something for everyone, Many ticks all the boxes. It's an excellent spot to bring visitors or to have a coffee with friends and while away the hours shopping. You can also participate in one of the many The Skillsmithery Winter Workshops run by Studio Bomba within Many. There are courses in making terrariums, leather satchels or try your go at hand lettering.
Come and see for yourself what Many has to offer, you will fall in love with its charm as I did!
