The racing season is one of my favourite times of the year in Melbourne. I love the ceremony and tradition.  I love the anticipation of the races and the talented horses that run them. I love the ladies in their hats and and the men in their suits. The fashions on the field showcases style and poise at its finest (at least in the earlier parts of the day). Outfits are meticulously put together, many ladies planning for months before. Here's a collection of some of the best from Melbourne Cup day.
